“I am something to be feared if you fear the empowerment of others." This is a major statement for me, because I do believe in the empowerment of others. This statement was written by Shark-fu a Feminist blog author of angryblackbitch.blogspot.com I do care about Equality and the right to have a Voice, but not enough to label myself as a feminist. Yet this statement alone screams loud and clear what Feminism details. I am just not sure I agree with its "methods".We all have a purpose and a variety of purposes. There are many avenues to accomplish those purposes. At the end of the day, I believe that knowledge is POWER. If you know better you do better…My purpose is to teach, encourage and motivate. I realized a long time ago you can’t change people, BUT you can influence. “The Battle hymn of a dangerous black woman” reads very angrily, and as a black woman, I have to ask what has it accomplished? Is this a venting process, or did it in fact solve any of the problems mentioned in the hymn? She mentioned she wanted to have a positive impact…To who is my question and to what age group? In meeting her through Skype I could see a form of positive impact, but I can’t say the same for her blogs.
Let’s talk about the MIND and CHOICE…The color of one’s skin DOES NOT cause us to steal, kill, and lie. It DOES NOT cause us to have abortions, to be on welfare, and to hate others. It does not contribute to social class, work ethics or success. It’s just a simple pigment right? Why do we constantly label behaviors according to color? Our POWER is in our mindset and choices. Why do we give too much credit to other people? Why do we even take the time to entertain such nonsense? We allow others to have too much power and control over our mind. It is not outside circumstances that influence a person’s success, it’s all internal. We choose to be successful despite the obstacles. We are quick to say society this, and society that…We are all individuals, and we should act like it.
“If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse.” ― E. James Rohn
Movements are needed and necessary in forms of education more than anything in my opinion. I can’t stress enough that Knowledge is POWER!!!
